Directions For Stitching
Fabric: 14 ct mono or plastic canvas
white or ecru
Size(s): 30 stitches by 30 stitches
14 Count, 2-1/8w X 2-1/8h in
18 Count, 1-5/8w X 1-5/8h in
DMC 433 #5 Pearl Cotton
Brown-MD 3 yds. Basketweave center of flower using 1 strand
S858 Splendor Dark Blue 2
yds. Tent Stitch using 6 strands
S860 Splendor Light Blue 1 card Basketweave- fill in rest of square using
S879 Splendor PaleYellow 3 yds.
S933 Splendor Dark Yellow 3 yds.
DMC 435 #5 Pearl Cotton Brown- LT 1 yd.
DMC 437 #5 Pearl Cotton Light Tan 1 yd.
After entire background is stitched, use long straight stitches
following the lines indicated on the diagram for the first layer and filling in between
those stitches with the other 2 layers.
First Layer - 2 strands S879 Splendor - Pale Yellow
4 strands S933 Splendor - Dark Yellow
Second Layer - 4 strands S879 Splendor - Pale Yellow
2 strands S933 Splendor - Dark Yellow
Third Layer - 6 strands S933 Splendor - Dark Yellow
Finally work French Knots over the brown center. Use DMC 435 to work
2 concentric circles of French Knots working from the outside in. Finish rest of area with
DMC 437 worked in French Knots.
